Denny brought his grandson Alex and soon to be grandson inlaw Kayden out to Ft Gibson lake to catch paddlefish earlier in the week. It was a awesome time watching them catch their first spoonbill ever and the biggest fish they ever caught. Fun time watching them reel in family memories. Last week i had one awesome dude name Cliff come fish with us all the way from Huntsville, Alabama. When booking he said he justs wants t catch paddlefish for the first time. I said got ya Cliff. He put a beat down on the paddlefish. Cliffs big fish was 109 pounds followed by multiple fish over the 60-90 pound range. Cliff is a avid fisherma fishing for monster catfish back in Alabama. He is one laid back dude. We really enjoyed fishing with him. Thank you for your service to our great country Cliff and enjoy your retirement. David has been with me fishing for Spoonbill ( Oklahoma marlins) multiple times for multiple years. This time he brong out more of his family to enjoy catching these hard fighting prehistoric monsters. Brother Blake , nephew David, son Christian and friend chris all got in on catching multiple paddlefish. This crew are some tough texans as they are going hand fishing for yellow cats. The do their noodling i. Water infested with snakes, Alligator gar and alligators. 😳 keep them fingers in tact guys and good luck. The Quinns were in Oklahoma to watch the OU /Alabama game. Since they absolutely love fishing they decided to come catch a unique species of fish that is really popular to catch in Oklahoma. That is the monster species the Paddlefish!!! It was a great time spending the afternoon with them catching these prehistoric monsters.

Yesterday Richard and his son Jake came down from Kansas city to put a spanking on the Spoonbill/Paddlefish. They both did great catching and fighting these prehistoric monsters. Jacob and Robert came up from Texas to see what this spoonbill fishing is all about. Jacob asked when he called me do I think we will catch any. Ross, His sister inlaw Teresa and her sons Lukas, Liam, and Ross son Finley Foote came out the other day to catch thier very first paddlefish and thier biggest fresh water fish. Ross has been with me multiple times but it was Teresa and the kids first time. They all had a blast catching them. These fish are really fighting hard as the water warms up. Fun times. Saturday morning i Met Kelsey his wife Amanda dayghter Bailey and son Mason at Mazie landing Marina. We drove the boat up to Hudson dam to put a beating on the paddlefish in the 30,000 fps current coming out of the dam. What a awesome morning spending it with this awesome family from Colorado to catch Paddlefish. When Amanda was younger she would fish for Walleye with her father and sometimes they would snag the paddlefish but her dad would always cut the line because he didnt want to mess with them. Well that drove her passion for wanting to catch paddlefish. Now this awesone fishing family has been to mulitiple states catching them. We even caught Mason a huge gar. Great news!!! So ive been getting calls and messages asking to book with me in may and this summer for fishing. Ive had my calendar blocked out for these dates for a couple of months now because i was in talks about my summer fishing.🫣 But i am fishing from now up until the end of April here for paddlefish. So get on my schedule 👍My great news is i will be working for a awesome, highly respected charter fishing company ( Homer Halibut Hunters) in Homer, Alaska this summer(ya!) Scott and Jennifer came down from Alaska and fished with me on (a Oklahoma Sooners special day)... The day was awesome fishing with them. Good laughs and great conversation about life, fishing and hunting in Alaska. Jennifer is from Ketchican,Ak and they now live in Wasilla, Alaska. This was a last minute trip that they had just a little time to Squeeze in to catch their very first paddlefish. It was a grind putting them on the hook but we hot it done and they did great. That special day was because they had tickets to the oklahoma, Alabama game to watch live where the Sooners put the breaks on Alabamas chance to be in the play offs. How cool is that paddlefish in the afternoon and a couple hours later storming the field in Norman. 💪 The next time i see this couple this summer in Alaska they will be Mr&Mrs Mckenna ya! We're fishing everyday! Catching some nice big females and hard fighting males. Caught a female today that had eggs slipping out. I hope they push back several weeks before they Spawn. They Spawn about 55 degrees and water temp is 50 but with all this water running its kinda making me think. Checkout this bent bill on this spoonbill I caught on my new garmen unit. Love the new graph.

Another great day on the water fishing in the rain today. We got a couple of guys out early this morning right after legal fishing time and we caught them lots of fish and were done before the sun even rose. Next trip started at 10:30 and it was awesome. We caught probably 20 Spoonbill and they left taking one to see if they like to eat them. My covered boat made it nice fishing in the rain today and as always my clients really enjoyed it also.
